Ghana Football Association’s technical director, Francis Oti Akenteng, has urged Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah to stay focus in order to accomplish his 2019 AFCON target.

According to the former SS74 player, Coach Appiah has been excellent with the senior national team despite failing to qualify the team to Russia 2018.

Appiah placed third with 7-points from four qualifiers behind Uganda, Egypt and has told Ghanaians he is now rebuilding a new Black Stars team ahead of 2019 AFCON in Cameroon a reason for introducing new faces in the team.

Akenteng is warning Appiah about detractors and therefore he must remain focus to reach his destination.

“He has started so well, is just a matter to stay focus we have been telling him and we are solidly behind him. He should know 2019 is his target so he must forget about all those who are criticizing his recent call ups since there is a bright future for him”, Akenteng told Starr Sports.

The Black Stars return to action in March next year against Kenya in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
